What this instrument depicts
This sampled shooting display traces 256 headings forward from the entry and 256 backward from the target. It scores the forward rays by their closest sampled approach to the target and plots forward miss distance by heading. A path inside the displayed tolerance is evidence from this finite sample, not proof of an exact connecting orbit or a dense set of zeros.
How to use + read it
Drag the entry or target, toggle Dispersion, or restore the starting positions with Reset points. Read the closest-approach value and sampled-connection state. The highlighted path and aim curve come from the forward fan; the backward fan is a comparison display.
